PENCIL Internship Program 

Provides valuable real- world work experiences to talented NYC high school and college students through paid, six-week summer internships.

The Team:

The commitment of one Business Mentor to host and guide interns.

The Time:

Business Mentors complete a training webinar, and supervise the PENCIL Intern during the six-week internship.

The Resources:

A tax-deductible gift of $5,000 provides each student with training and a competitive hourly wage.

Student Selection:

PENCIL manages a rigorous selection process, mirroring the private sector hiring process.


PENCIL provides over 20 hours of training to prepare students for their internship.

Support During the Internship:

PENCIL conducts site visits with each intern and Business Mentor and is available to answer questions and provide feedback throughout the internship
