He is a native New Yorker who is a BA/MA candidate in History with a focus on the African Diaspora. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a JD PHD. Currently, he is a Judith Stein scholar writing his thesis on the implications of western periodization on African Diasporic history. In addition, Jeryl is a huge fan of sports as well as music.

We also asked Jeryl what drew him to PENCIL and he had this to say: “The time I spent at the Urban Justice Center helped me realize my passion for nonprofit work. The opportunity to actualize my passion is what drew me to PENCIL.”

Thank you for sharing, Jeryl! We are so happy to have you on the team!
