Why are the L4L and PENCIL programs important to you?
They are great programs that not only enable kids to obtain a phenomenal internship experience but also prepare them for interviews, resume writing, and other important workplace skills.

Any advice for students thinking about applying for the first time?
Don’t be afraid of going into the program without knowing anything about the workforce. The beauty of the program is the availability of the resources to the students. The team at PENCIL gets you in shape for whatever internship you are placed in.

Stephan was ready for his internship because of PENCIL’s training and volunteers like you. During our immersive and critical training, volunteers are able to share your own professional experiences to coach New York City’s ambitious youth, improving their interview skills and helping them write their first cover letters and resumes. If you haven’t yet had a chance to get involved, we’ve made it easier than ever to sign up today! If you have questions about the trainings or are interested in hosting a student in your offices please reach out to Julia Ostroff at jostroff@pencil.org.
