We know many of you were looking forward to spending a day at an NYC Public School this spring as part of PENCIL’s Principal For A Day®. As you know, we had to cancel this year’s event, but are still determined to connect students to success by bringing school and business leaders together.
To that end, we are excited to offer our Principal For A Day participants the opportunity to join a virtual panel discussion with New York City’s public school leaders on April 23rd at 4 pm.
This event will provide an insider perspective about the day in the life of a principal and how the shift to virtual learning has impacted schools, teachers, students, and their families. Our panelists include principals from four of PENCIL’s partnership schools:
- Asya Johnson, Longwood Preparatory Academy
- Karen Polsonetti, Manhattan Business Academy
- Kristina Jelinek, Dual Language Middle School
- Uche L. Njoku, John Jay School of Law
School leaders face many challenges navigating the complex and ever-evolving education system. Not only do they have to be great educators but also effective leaders.
As Karen Polsonetti pointed out: “Our educators are so amazing – they switched so abruptly to online learning and are trying really hard to not lose any of our students during this time.”
PENCIL is proud to present a platform that will help people understand what it means to be a school leader in these unprecedented times. We hope you will join us!
