The Internship Program serves hundreds of high school and college students each year as part of the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development’s Ladders for Leaders Program. Interns receive real-world work experience through a career readiness training program that culminates in a paid six week summer internship.
HOST A STUDENT AND SET THEM ON THE PATH TO SUCCESS
From February through June, volunteers are needed to participate in, or lead, student training to help interns learn and practice skills such as interviewing, creating cover letters and resumes, financial literacy, and networking.
Having the opportunity to learn from and practice these skills with professionals is what makes our interns special. If you or your company is interested in participating, please click below!

SUPPORT THE PROGRAM
PENCIL invests $2500 per student to provide them with 20+ hours of pre-employment training. A gift in support of our program ensures that students are prepared for their internships and have developed the career readiness skills they need to succeed.
